Saturday Night Out

Disclaimer: This story may or may not be enhanced for your reading enjoyment.

Saturday night was my second bunco get-together. However, we decided to forgo rolling dice and instead met at a nice restaurant for Happy Hour and appetizers.

Our evening started off innocent enough. A serious discussion regarding going back to work (after several years of being stay-at-home moms) some how worked itself into a Reality TV series. My friend Erin (who volunteered to be the camera operator) took notes on a napkin as we came up with I believe 6 or 7 episode ideas. Without spoiling the show for you, I’ll simply say it would revolve around a Wild Berry Cooler my friend Shawna and myself. Yeah. We’ll just leave it at that. We also compiled a list of questions for Amy who volunteered to do some market research for us. (This would be another episode in itself). With the action figures and product endorsements we feel confident that early retirement is in our futures.

Did I mention the Cosmos and Margaritas were really tasty at this restaurant?

Anyway, for some of us the night out ended when happy hour did. However for a few of us the evening had just begun…

Four of us headed over to a Mexican karaoke bar. Initially singing for free drinks sounded like a fun idea. However when we arrived we realized that Karaoke wouldn’t be starting for some time.

Now..I’m not sure how the discussion started or even whose idea it initially was, but the next thing I know we are all heading to downtown. Our first stop was…well, it was eye opening…and maybe a little awkward for some (and by some, I might mean me)… Even the bathrooms were on the scary side. The bathroom faucets didn’t even work. This is all I’m going to say on the subject.

After a quick drink we headed to our 4th and final destination; a dance club.

This post is getting on the long side so maybe it would be best to end it now. If I had the space I would of shared how Mona sweet-talked the bouncer into getting us in the club for free. Or maybe I would of talked about the new friend Erin and Shawna met while getting drinks at the bar. Or maybe I would of mentioned we didn't get home until after 2:30 AM

For one night we weren’t stay-at-home moms, but 21 year olds having fun!:o)

Nice to have a night off, sometimes. I went out with my sister last month and we really let our hair down.
